Great opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to grow and work for a leading manufacturer of Building Products in Wausau, WI.
Our client is an American building products leader looking for a Product Development Engineer to lead developmental efforts of new products in addition to the enhancement of existing product lines across multiple brands.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that product development initiatives are completed in an On-Time, Complete and Correct manner.
- Ensuring that product development initiatives are completed within budget.
- Acting as the chief coordinator between Vendors, Customers, outside Test Labs and internal resources while following the product development process.
- Responsible for creating and energizing a “development team” for each major product initiative.
- Assist in the creation of initial product charter, ensuring appropriate return on investment, developing product strategy/context, designing and developing prototypes (includes tooling), administering prototype testing, scheduling and administering plant trial runs and ensuring advertising and promotional literature is ready for launch.
- Responsible for following documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering/product design role.
